The Importance of Medical Coding
When people come to the hospital to get a treatment or medication, then the health service that they received determine the amount of money that the health insurance have to pay for it. The health services are transferred into alpha numeric codes and then used to determine the amount of payment. The process of transferring the services into the codes is called medical coding. The person who does the medical coding procedures is called Medical Coder. A medical coder makes sure that every doctor visit is being coded properly and processed for the health insurance compensation. To become Medical Coder, one must be qualified with graduating from medical coding course and passing the medical coding certification. A Medical Coder must be able to work well with numbers and pay a high attention to details because they are dealing with codes that determine the income of the hospital. The profession is very important and the demand for it is increasing in recent years.
