Laugh to live long! Perhaps the expression above by some people is only taken as idioms, but they are not. According to some research done, it’s true that laughter will make our body healthier and longer life.
Laughter can reduce stress hormone levels in the body such as cortisol and adrenaline. With the reduction in these hormones, it will increase our immunity and prevent disease. This happens because T cells can release a laugh that is the protein that can help overcome the disease called gamma-interferon and B cells that secrete antibodies.
Laughter also can improve the respiratory system works, the use of oxygen to the body and good for our heart. In addition, laughter may also accelerate the blood circulation and reduce blood pressure.
According to research, there is a unique brain wave patterns when the brain capture a sense of humor. When someone listens to jokes, it left hemisphere analytic processing of words that enter the brain. Brain activity in the next section will move to the frontal lobe (emotional center).
